The service-oriented

"In client support at PASS I support my colleagues in the daily tasks of internal IT operations."

Nick, Apprentice System Integration

Career at PASS

  • Since 2018 – Training as IT specialist for system integration

What are your most important tasks?

In my area of work, it is commonplace for us to support and assist colleagues on many IT issues. My tasks also include the repair of notebooks and contact with manufacturer support. Apart from these activities, there are currently other areas that I have taken on: For example, the support of the video conference system and the operation of our imaging software.

How did the first months of your training go?

Even as an apprentice, PASS gives you the opportunity to take on responsibility at an early stage. After previous instruction, I was also quickly thrown into the action. If there were any questions, I could always ask them. Now I have my own topics, which I work on and supervise independently.

What is important to you about your work?

These are definitely the varied tasks. Personally, I would not like to do the same task every day, but fortunately that is not the case in this profession. At this point I would like to emphasize the great and collegial environment here at PASS. I am very happy to have such a great team, which supports me and with which you can laugh. This makes the daily work a lot easier.

Which soft skills are important in your job?

To accomplish my tasks, I also need patience and understanding towards employees who are less technically versed. You have to be prepared to explain something step by step. At the same time, you should also be willing to deal with topics that are foreign to you and have an eye for the little things. Last but not least: Always stay with a topic until the challenge is solved and not give up before.

If your job were a sport, what would that be?

Basically any team sport. We always work as a team.

What do you like about your team?

What I appreciate about my team is that everyone is very friendly and helpful with each other. Even if you have a lot of questions as a young colleague, you can always ask them and get a decent answer.

Do you have a tip for a newcomer to your job at PASS?

Do not hesitate to ask for help, because at PASS you will always be helped.

Is there a special experience/anecdote that you associate with PASS?

The PASS Annual Conference and the annual PASS Late Year Benefit. Both events have been implemented brilliantly, which always brings a smile to my face when I think back.
